1. Who is Tennis Emirates (TE)?
Tennis Emirates is the national governing body of tennis in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). TE’s role is to develop and promote tennis throughout UAE following the requirements of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the strategy of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare.
2. What is the responsibility of Tennis Emirates?
Tennis Emirates’ responsibility includes, but is not limited to promoting and developing tennis through the following:
- Communication & coordination with International tennis bodies such as: International Tennis Federation (ITF); Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Arab Tennis Federation and GCC Federation
- Develop a national competition calendar
- Host national & international competitions
- Organize National teams for Davis Cup & FED Cup
- Operate a TE Membership program
- Develop grassroot and school tennis programs
- Implement a national tennis ranking system for juniors and adults
- Evaluate requests and sanction all open tournaments & events in the UAE
- Conduct coaching & official accreditation and continuing education program
- Evaluate proposals for new tennis facilities and issue non-objection letters
- Offer consultation to the tennis industry and much more
3. What is a Tennis Emirates (TE) membership & affiliation program?
On 1 Oct 2009, Tennis Emirates launched its membership program to identify and categorize the tennis community in the UAE.
4. Who oversees the membership & affiliation program?
The program is administered by the MEDIAPRO Middle East (MPME), the management and marketing partner of Tennis Emirates through the approval of the Tennis Emirates Joint Management Committee and the General Authority of Youths and Sports Welfare.
5. What are the different types of memberships?
There are 7 types of affiliation/membership as follows:
- Kid’s (10 and under)
- Junior’s (11 to 17 years)
- Adult’s (18 years & above)
- Non UAE residents
- Officials (Tournament Director, Referees, Umpires, Linesmen) etc.
- Coaches
- Institution (Private Sports Clubs, Academies, Sports Services, Hotel) etc.
6. Who should become a member?
All active and passive participants and organizers of Tennis Emirates organized and/or sanctioned activities and events should obtain a TE membership or affiliation. This includes players, coaches, officials and all institutions (clubs, academies, hotels, equipment distributors, etc.) offering tennis activities or providing tennis services to the tennis community in the UAE.
7. What are the benefits of being a member?
All members will receive a membership card or affiliation certificate with a unique identification number to identify them as registered members or affiliates of TE.
Individual member’s benefits include:
- Participate and/or organize sanctioned activities & events and obtain national ranking through participation
- Online registration for events and activities

8. How can I apply for membership or institutional affiliation?
Membership application(s) can be made online or by hardcopy submission of an application form, while an institutional affiliation can only be made through hardcopy submission of an affiliation application form.
Membership and affiliation information can be obtained from the TE website http://www.uae-tennis.com. Applications can be made in the following modes: -
- Online application: please register online by visiting http://www.uae-tennis.com
- Hardcopy submission: please download the application from TE website or request an application from Tennis Emirates or MEDIAPRO offices.

9. How long is the validity of my membership/affiliation?
Institutions affiliation, coaches and officials membership are valid one season. Players membership are valid for one year. Members and affiliates who have not registered with Tennis Emirates for season 2009/10 will be charged first season dues on top of the 2010/11 season membership/affiliation fees.
10. What are the required documents for the membership/affiliation application?
Individual members:
- Completed application forms
- 2 passport photos
- Passport copy (cover page)
- UAE resident visa copy
- UAE ID card copy
- Professional certification copies (for coaches & officials only)
- Personal CV’s (for coaches & officials only)
- Proof of payment
Affiliation applications:
- Completed application forms
- Copy of Trade License or copy of the Establishment/Sports Club Memorandum
- Copy of rental agreement for tennis courts sub-contractors and/or freelance tennis coaches
- 2 passport photos of the Institution Manager
- Copy of Manager’s passport
- Copy of Manager’s UAE resident visa
- Application form(s) of all coaches sponsored under the Institution’s Trade License
- Proof of payment

11. How can I view the membership terms and conditions?
All terms and conditions are published online at http://www.uae-tennis.com and printed on all application forms. All terms & conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
12. How much is the membership/affiliation fee?
Annual fees are at the following rates:
Membership payments can be paid in either cash, cheque or credit card, while an affiliation can only be paid by cheque.
- Online Applications - Credit Card Only
- Mailed Applications - Cheque Only
- Walk-in Applications - Cash, Cheque or Credit Card
Payment is due in full at the time of application. All cheques should be payable to “Tennis Emirates”. Please ensure you keep your receipt as proof of purchase (online payments will be issued a receipt via website).
14. When and how can I receive my membership card?
Upon successful approval of your application, you will receive a confirmation by email of your approved membership application, plus your user name and first time “Log-in” password along with the collection notice. As soon as your membership is approved, you are entitled to all benefits even if your card is still under processing.
Your membership application will be confirmed within 1 week and a card or affiliation certificate issued within 2 weeks, as long as payment and all required document are submitted.
15. Why is my application taking so long?
Your membership application might be pending until all relevant documents are received. Incomplete applications would be left pending for 3 months. Thereafter, the application will be cancelled. In case of membership cancelation of application, membership payments are non refundable.
16. What happens if my application is rejected?
In case of rejected application(s), a full refund of money will be paid to you and all the submitted documents will be returned immediately.
17. Is my membership card required?
It is recommended to carry your membership card with you, especially when you are participating in tennis activities and obtaining membership benefits such as discounts at the preferred outlets.
18. How can I obtain my membership username and password?
For online application, the system will prompt you to provide a valid email address, your login username and a password of your choice.
For hardcopy application, your username and password will be sent to your specified email account on your application.
After your first time login, you will be able to change your password. This username and password should be used for future logins.
19. What do I do if I forget my password?
Under “Member’s Login”, please specify your username (your email address) and click “forget password”. The “old” password will be sent to your specified email account.
20. How do I replace my lost or stolen membership card/affiliation certificate?
Please download a card/certificate replacement form from the TE website or request for a replacement from Tennis Emirates or MEDIAPRO. Please fill out the information and send it to:-

Please note that AED50 replacement fee applies for a lost or stolen membership card and AED100 replacement fee for affiliation certificate.
21. Is my membership and affiliation fee refundable?
Membership and affiliation fees are non refundable.
22. How can I cancel my membership/affiliation?
Please notify the membership coordinator in writing to cancel your membership. Your membership will cease with immediate effect.
