MEDIAPRO Middle East FZ-LLC, as part of the MEDIAPRO Group of Companies with its headquarters in Barcelona, Spain started its business operations in the Middle East in 2003 with broadcasting productions during the Arabian Gulf Cup of Nations in Qatar and has since then grown to more than 150 project based employees in the UAE and Qatar.
In August 2008, MEDIAPRO Middle East set up its regional headquarters in Dubai International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) servicing its wide range of projects in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
The parent company currently has 12 international offices (including Los Angeles, Miami, Barcelona, Madrid, etc.) and the 3200 employees generating an annual turnover of more than EUR 800-million to make MEDIAPRO the European leader in audiovisual content production and providing of technical services for the broadcasting industry.
MEDIAPRO owns the international broadcasting rights of La Liga (Spanish Football League including FC Barcelona and Real Madrid), the Euro Basketball League and the F1 broadcasting rights in Spain. In cinema productions, MEDIAPRO produces all Woody Allen films with the latest one (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) winning an OSCAR for best supporting actress featuring Penelope Cruz. “Gol TV” is the only 24-hour football channel in High Definition worldwide and “La Sexta” has just risen to become the #1 Spanish television station in terms of audience growth. As an event organizer, MEDIAPRO in Spain organized the “Peace Cup” in July 2009, featuring 12 international club teams including Real Madrid, Juventus Turin and Aston Villa.
Under the leadership of Eric M. Gottschalk (CEO) and Victor Ventura (GM), MEDIAPRO Middle East focuses on its key business units as sports marketing experts and broadcasting production and technical services provider for the sports and entertainment industry.
Milestone projects in the GCC were the host broadcasting production of the past three Arabian Gulf Cups of Nations (GCC Cup), Doha Asian Games, Speedcar races, production services for the UFL (UAE Professional Football League) on behalf of Dubai Sports Channel and Live Media Production Services and the co-organizing (with Al Jazeera Sports) of the 19th GCC Cup in Muscat, Oman including host broadcasting, sponsorship, corporate hospitality, city look & feel, and merchandising program.
MEDIAPRO Middle East also allows to extend its resources and expertise of its renowned European sports marketing unit MEDIA SPORTS MARKETING, which is a specialized company under the Mediapro umbrella generating more than EUR 25-million each year through providing sports specific brand consultancy, creating sport strategy development, conducting sports consumer research studies, sponsorship consultancy and focuses on events management, event marketing and event promotions related to football, Formula One, basketball, tennis, sailing and many others.
MEDIAPRO Middle East’s latest projects in the UAE include the appointment as the exclusive management and marketing partner of the UAE Tennis Association for its grassroot programs, national tournaments & competitions, national ranking, website development, membership program, sponsorship marketing and league organization for the next five years.
MEDIAPRO Middle East also works as a marketing partner with the UFL to raise sponsorship in selected categories and with Al Reem Developers in Abu Dhabi supporting the management and marketing of THE DOME project, a newly opened five-a-side indoor and outdoor football venue in Abu Dhabi.
Currently MEDIAPRO Middle East provides fulltime production support services to the main regional broadcasters including Dubai Sports, Live Media Production Services, and Al Jazeera Sports.
